We have been selling craft cottons since 1993 from our shop and more and more customers were coming from far away.

In February 2000 we opened our first web site and in 2003 we felt the time was right to provide an on-line service with a secure site so that customers may choose at their leisure from our now extensive range of craft cottons.

In November 2004 with the growth of the internet our operation moved to a custom location dedicated to internet sales only.

We decided the internet operation should be called The Tabbycat. When I think of patchwork I think of all the wonderful shapes that can be used. Even more I think of the amazing colour-blending to arrive at a unique quilt. The colours that go together so well are not always what you would expect. You have only to look at the different colours in the coat of a tabby cat to see that it is a supreme example of nature's perfection. Hence The Tabbycat. The fact that I have some very dear tabby cat moggies of my own may have had some influence on the name!
